4th Annual Mediterranean Oil & Gas Conference
The 4th Annual Oil and Gas Mediterranean Conference, was held on the 12th & 13th June 2013, in Plaza Resort Hotel, Anavyssos.Oil and Gas have never been more topical in the Caspian and Mediterranean Seas. The oil majors have taken centre-stage as a result of new hydrocarbon discoveries and the upcoming development of a huge gas infrastructure that will bring the Azerbaijani gas to the heart of Europe. There is a symbiotic relationship between oil and gas supplies and economic development, that is becoming increasingly fundamental for these regions, thus oil majors are exploring for more discoveries.
Eastern Mediterranean and Caspian regions are among the most dynamic areas in the world today for exploration and production of oil and gas. The investment opportunities on oil and gas infrastructure, the upcoming final investment decision of the Shah Deniz gas consortium in Azerbaijan, the competition for the transit of the Shah Deniz gas between Nabucco West and Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the future development of Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) in Turkey, are all aiming to strengthen the European energy security and to create economic development and cooperation with the Caspian and Mediterranean regions. Moreover, the recent hydrocarbon discoveries in Eastern Mediterranean, specifically in Cyprus and Israel, the geopolitical and economic challenges, and the commercial opportunities for LNG trade, will lead to investments and will strengthen the security of supply in the European Union.
Energy Stream CMG GmbH and Symeon G. Tsomokos S.A. responded to these developments in the oil & gas industry with the organization of an exclusive conference for the hydrocarbons in Athens, Greece. The 4th Annual Oil and Gas Mediterranean Conference, which has been organized for 4 consecutive years, brought together senior government officials, oil & gas corporate leaders, pipeline consortia, financiers and global experts from the Caspian and Eastern Mediterranean regions, Europe and North America, to share their knowledge and experience and discuss current developments, projects and investments impacting the European energy security.
The Agenda for the 4th Annual Mediterranean Oil & Gas Conference included a blend of keynote addresses, expert panel discussions and in-depth case studies designed to inform and update participants on the policies, practices and business opportunities which will define the future outlook of the energy developments in the Caspian and Mediterranean regions.
